… A likely Union
Sat. June 11

Program Creator & Instructor: Cathy Woods
Long time Yoga Teacher, Life Skills Retreat Leader, Trail Rider
Many think yoga is just a form of stretches done on a mat, but it is much more.
It is an awareness practice.
Yoga means to unite body, mind & spirit.
“When we are totally present doing one thing at one time . . . that is yoga.”
Yoga practice takes many forms. There is the yoga of living, the yoga of relationships.
When you are fully present in your horsemanship you are practicing
the Yoga of Horsemanship.

This fun, interactive workshop takes place
on the mat and in the saddle (horses provided).
You will need clothing that allows for movement for mat work and riding attire.
Grow, live, love, learn . . . about yourself, your horse, your awareness . . . about your balance (inner and outer!) . . . about Nature and life force energy that flows through all things.
It matters not your riding discipline, experience level, or if you just enjoy being around horses. In this fun, interactive, workshop we will:
- Spend time on the mat & in saddle (horses provided)
- Work on stretches, strengthening, balancing & body alignment techniques for equestrians
- Explore the metaphors of yoga & how they apply to horsemanship
- Staying centered/relaxed/grounded/focused
- Body/mind/breath awareness; Breath-work; Present moment awareness
- Moving with grace, patience, flexibility, strength & balance
This program is held outdoors, dress accordingly. You will need clothing that allows movement for mat work, and riding attire, note pad/pen. Bring yoga mat if you have one, some will be available. Do not bring a horse, they are provided.
Note: This is not training or riding instruction workshop. Horse or yoga experience not necessary.
